Who Should Apply
We are looking for Coloradans passionate about public service and ready to lead.
Great leaders come from all walks of life. If you are driven to make a difference – but are unsure where to begin – this program is for you.
We're looking for participants with diverse perspectives and backgrounds. You don't need education credentials or political experience. You need commitment, curiosity, and a willingness to do the work.

Format: 9 AM – 4 PM
Location: Lowry Conference Center, Denver
Curriculum: Case studies, conversations, and applied learning.
Faculty: Veteran school board members, campaign strategists, education policy experts, elected officials, policy experts
Founded in 2001, Bighorn was created to support practical, impactful leadership rooted in Colorado’s values. While 2026 brings a new set of challenges locally, statewide and nationally, the goal remains the same; create opportunities for Coloradans to educate and activate themselves into leadership positions.
The Bighorn Leadership program is designed to meet today’s challenges—with a renewed focus on cultivating leaders prepared to govern effectively and to create a Colorado for future generations.
